Day One and Two

Weeee! We're off and the day is absolutely gorgeous! We couldn't begin this journey any better. Mark, Jackielee, and Rick rode to the Canadian border with us to see us off. By the time we ate lunch with them the day was more than halft through. So how far would we make it the first night.....

Further than even we thought. We stayed at this great little campground called Pine Valley. The price was better than right, next door to the facilities, and soft green grass to set up the tents on.

Jerry and Steve made a beer run while Leroy and I fixed the gourmet burgers and maple beans. Trust me, at 9:00 P.M. it really is a gourmet meal. Dinner and dishes done, we had a few brews around the campfire and settled in.

We woke bright and early to a beautiful sunrise on the lake. We broke camp and were on the road by 8:30. We made it to Lake Nipissing before the skies opened up. A local was kind enough to give us some info on the area and snapped a photo w/ the Lake in the background. From pouring rain, to drizzle and flip flopped the rest of the day. Rain gear on...rain gear off...rain gear left on!
Soggy wet and hungry, we made it through customs and back into the states to settle down at the Longships Motel in Soo Locks MN. As we sit outside our hotel room we can see that the sky is clearing, the weather is warm and a mile long ship just went through the locks.

A few photos for you to enjoy, and we have a couple of beers to polish off before we get some sleep. Good night all.
